We’re excited to share that work is starting this week on the next stage of The Commons Trail!

This project forms part of the Caulfield Racecourse Reserve Strategic Management Plan, which guides ongoing improvements to access, safety and visitor experience across the Reserve.

This stage will deliver a 2-metre-wide granitic sand trail, stretching approximately 1.8 kilometres around the inside of the race track.

The upgraded trail will provide a safer and more accessible path for walkers, joggers, and visitors, while also improving durability in all weather conditions.

We’re aiming to have the works completed in time for summer, so everyone can enjoy a smoother and more connected way to explore the open spaces and wetlands at the heart of the Reserve.

Please note there may be minor disruptions and temporary access restrictions in some areas while works are underway. We appreciate your patience as we make these improvements for the community.
