Continuity and renewal: hallmarks of new Trust

Caulfield Racecourse Reserve gains further support for its strategy with the reappointment of its Trust Members and three new Trustees

The Victorian State Government has reappointed Sam Almaliki, Greg Sword AM, Pene Martyn and Stuart Burdack as Trust Members for the Caulfield Racecourse Reserve Trust until November 2027. This will be the third term for Almaliki and Sword, and the second term for Martyn and Burdack. Further strengthening the Trust are the new appointments of Stefanie Perri, Kelly Ryan and Justin Whitford. Former Trust Members, Julie Busch and Joanne Butterworth-Gray did not seek reappointment after serving two terms.

Reappointed Trust Chair, Sam Almaliki said “I am proud that I and my fellow Trust Members have been reappointed by the government, and this reflects confidence in the Trust’s vision and strategy. The Trust is now positioned to deliver a range of significant improvements across the reserve over the coming years, partnering with all parts of the community and other organisations”.

Almaliki also praised the outgoing Trust Members for their incredible hard work and commitment since the commencement of the Caulfield Racecourse Reserve Trust in 2017. “On behalf of the community and all stakeholders, I sincerely thank Joanne Butterworth-Gray, Julie Busch and Bernadene Voss for their tireless work in transforming the reserve to the publicly accessible and valued Caulfield Commons it is today” the Chair said.

The three new appointments of Stefanie Perri, Kelly Ryan and Justin Whitford bring a broad range of skills and experience to add to the existing Trust Members. Stefanie has health, education, communications and local government experience, Kelly has an extensive sports background, marketing and real estate experience, whilst Justin has a strong business background and qualifications in design and advertising. The management and Trust welcome the new and returning Trust Members and look forward to the exciting years ahead, delivering a great place for everyone.
