Glen Eira Tunnel Closure – Planned Roadworks

Glen Eira Road Tunnel Resurfacing – August 2025

Please note that the Glen Eira Road Tunnel will be closed for resurfacing works from Monday, 18 August to Friday, 22 August 2025.

These works are being undertaken by the Melbourne Racing Club (MRC) as part of the final completion phase of their second track project.

While the tunnel is closed, all other pedestrian access points will remain open. Accessible entry will be available via the Caulfield (Guineas) Tunnel near the train station.

Please make alternative arrangements if you usually access the site by vehicle.

These upgrades will enhance safety, improve comfort for all users, and contribute to better air quality by reducing dust levels in the tunnel.
